Paul J. Angelo, PhD, currently serves as the Director at the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies since June 2022 and has been a Term Member and Fellow for Latin America Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations since June 2019. Angelo completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Politics at UCL in 2019, following a Master of Philosophy in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford in 2008, and a Bachelor of Science in Honors Political Science with a minor in Spanish from the United States Naval Academy in 2006. Previous experience includes roles as an International Affairs Fellow at the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Senior Instructor at the United States Naval Academy, and various positions with the U.S. Navy, UK Ministry of Defence, and Department of Defense, focusing on policy, strategic communications, and cultural consulting.
