Jan Felton has extensive work experience in architecture, landscape design, and teaching. Jan worked as the Open Space Community Projects & Community Gardens Officer at Willoughby City Council from August 2008. Prior to that, they were the Principal at Jan Felton - Architecture and Landscape Design, where they worked on various architectural and landscape projects, including public spaces, schools, commercial sites, and residential gardens. Jan also worked as a part-time lecturer at Raffles Institute of Design & Commerce, University of New South Wales, Faculty of Built Environment, and K.V.B. Institute of Technology, Sydney, teaching interior design and architectural technology courses. Additionally, they worked as an architectural designer for the Aboriginal Housing Company, collaborating on projects that required community consultation and ranged from feasibility studies to detailed architectural works. Jan Felton also taught at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Sydney and the Institute of Early Childhood Studies, where they lectured on architectural design and design crafts, respectively. Jan began their teaching career as a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria.
Jan Felton has a B. Sc.(Arch) degree in Architecture from the University of NSW. Jan also holds an M. Sc.(Arch) degree from Ahmadu Bello University. Additionally, they have completed a Horticulture Certificate from TAFE NSW and a Cert. IV in Assessment and Workplace Training from Raffles College of Design and Commerce in 2005.
