Rico L. Dawson has a diverse work experience in the field of music education. Rico L. started their career as a Music Teacher at Wayne County Public Schools from 2001 to 2004. From 2006 to 2011, Rico worked as a Program Coordinator at ADLA Inc. Rico L. then served as a Choral Director at Nash Rocky Mount Schools from 2011 to 2012. Following this, they became an Elementary Music Teacher at Nash/Rocky Mount Schools from 2013 to 2015. Rico then returned to Wayne County Public Schools in 2015 to work as a Choral Director until 2022. Currently, they are employed as a Choral Director at Wilson County Schools in North Carolina.
Rico L. Dawson obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Music Industry Studies from Elizabeth City State University in the years 1991 to 1995. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Music Education (K-12) from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in June 2023.
