Chris Fleming, M.S. has a diverse work experience. They started their career in 1999 at The Weather Channel, where they worked in internet advertising sales production. From 2004 to 2006, they served as a commercial architecture and design representative at William M. Bird, Inc., presenting flooring products to the architecture and interior design communities. They then joined Wilsonart as a commercial flooring distributor representative from 2006 to 2008, managing distributors in southern and mid-atlantic states. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as a territory sales representative at Shaw Industries, covering middle and east Tennessee.
In 2013, they joined The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Research Laboratory as a laboratory technician, where their responsibilities included separating and identifying larval decapods from plankton samples after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. They joined NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration in 2014 as a contract port agent, working as the Southeast Regional Headboat Survey coordinator. In this role, they conducted surveys of federally permitted recreational headboat fishing vessels in various ports of the Gulf of Mexico, identified multiple species of fishes, and maintained vessel activity logs.
Currently, since 2018, Chris Fleming is working as an Architecture and Design Representative at Wilsonart.
Chris Fleming, M.S. holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Fisheries Ecology and Stable Isotope Ecology from the University of Southern Mississippi, which was obtained from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Marketing from the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University from 1994 to 1998. Additionally, they are certified in SCUBA Advanced Open Water from NAUI Worldwide.
