Michael Lamers has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Michael currently holds the position of Corporate Product Director Gaming at Win Systems, a role they started in 2022. Before that, Michael worked at Scientific Games for several years, starting in 2015. During their time at Scientific Games, they served as the Director Product Management Games EMEA and also worked as a Product Manager.

Michael Lamers started their career at Nikon Europe B.V. as a Sales Account Consultant from 2001 to 2003.

Michael Lamers completed a Certificate in Launching Breakthrough Technologies (LBTechX1) at Harvard University in 2019. From 2013 to 2014, they pursued a Master's Certificate in Organisational Behaviour, Economics, Project Management, and Accounting at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. In 1997, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) Honours degree with a focus on Marketing and Human Resources from the University of the Witwatersrand. For their secondary education, Michael attended Potchefstroom High School for Boys, where they earned their Matric qualification between 1991 and 1995. Additionally, in 2020, they completed a course in Business Analytics for Data Driven Decision Making at edX.
