Rene Biegstraaten is currently employed as an Area Manager at WIND since December 2022. Prior to this role, Rene held positions such as General Manager at Dutch Port Agency (DPA Nederland BV) from November 2016 to November 2022, and Business Unit Manager at Kloosterboer from September 2014 to November 2016. With a background in operations management and customs, Rene brings a wealth of experience in import/export, storage, and stock control. Alongside a career in the oil & gas industry, Rene has also served as a Customs Officer at Ministerie van Financiën from January 1988 to May 1991. Additionally, Rene received education from Inholland University of Applied Sciences from 1994 to 1997.

WIND is a shipping company providing specialised logistic services to the subsea cable industry and is active worldwide. Its client base includes subsea cable manufacturers, subsea cable installation companies, offshore marine contractors and utility companies. WIND occupies a unique market position. Founded in 1991 as a cargo ship owner and operator it combines knowledge of ships and shipping with specialist experience in handling subsea cables, making use of its extensive shipping network, large pool of smart cable equipment and experienced cable crews.
