Ivar Knutsen has several years of experience in the energy and maritime industry. Ivar is currently the SVP Technical & Supply Chain at Wind Catching Systems, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Manager in the Wind Installation Vessel Newbuilding Team at Havfram from August 2020 to August 2021. From June 2018 to August 2021, Ivar served as the CEO of Floating Energy Group. Ivar also worked as a Partner at Storm Capital Partners from January 2018 to August 2020.
Before joining Storm Capital Partners, Ivar held the role of Technical Advisor at South West 10 AS from November 2017 to August 2020. From February 2015 to November 2017, they served as the Vice President of Special Projects at VARD. Prior to their role at VARD, Ivar worked as a Specialist Engineer in Marine & Design at Boatlabs AS from February 2012 to February 2015.
In 2011, Ivar worked as the Engineering Manager for the AMC Connector project at EMAS AMC (formerly Aker Marine Contractors) where they were responsible for the design and construction follow-up of a large construction vessel. Ivar also worked as the Engineering Manager and Marine Engineer at Aker Marine Contractors from 2005 to 2011.
Ivar started their career as a Structural Engineer at Aker Kvaerner in 2001. Throughout their career, Ivar has gained expertise in project management, vessel design, installation, and construction review.
Ivar Knutsen earned a Bachelor's degree in Naval architecture from Ålesund University College (HiÅ) between 1992 and 1995. Ivar then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Marine Systems Design from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 1997 to 1999.
