Andrea Mattera

Andrea Mattera has a diverse work experience starting in 2015 as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During this time, they conducted a research project on a new approach to Stand-Off Detection of Special Nuclear Material using Big Data Analytics. Andrea gained experience in Python and Big Data analysis tools.

In 2016, Andrea worked as a Business Analyst Consultant at NTT DATA Italia, where they developed ETL workflows and analyzed data flows for a financial institution. Andrea improved their knowledge of Oracle SQL, PowerCenter software, and business analysis while working effectively in a team.

From 2017 to 2020, Andrea worked at Cuebiq, initially as a Data Engineer and later as a Tech Lead. In these roles, they worked on different projects using AWS technologies and Spark API in Kotlin and Java 8. Andrea focused on optimizing existing products and making applications developed by Data Scientists scalable on Spark EMR clusters. Andrea also provided technical guidance and resolved technical issues for their team.

Currently, Andrea is employed at wind tre as the Head of Data Architecture. Andrea'smain responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining optimized and secure data pipelines for B2B activities.

Throughout their career, Andrea has gained experience in data engineering, technical leadership, and business analysis, with a strong focus on Big Data technologies and optimization.

Andrea Mattera has a diverse education history that spans multiple institutions and fields of study. In 2003 to 2008, they attended Liceo Scientifico Albert Einstein for their high school education. After that, from 2009 to 2013, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at the Università di Pisa. Andrea furthered their education in the same field by obtaining a Master's degree from the same university from 2013 to 2015. During their time as a Master's student, they also participated in a Summer Course at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2014.

In 2016, Andrea attended the Talent Camp NTT DATA at Elis. After completing their Master's degree, they went on to the Università di Pisa again in 2021 to obtain the Qualification to practice the Engineering profession.

In terms of certifications, Andrea obtained the following additional certifications: Certificazione base di Project Management from the Istituto Italiano di Project Management in May 2022, HDP Certified Developer (HDPCD) from Hortonworks in June 2017, Certificate of participation at the "Arduino for Makers" workshop from G.i.O. - Associazione Culturale Studentesca in November 2015, TOEFL iBT® Test - 110/120 from The TOEFL® test in November 2015, HDP Data Science from Hortonworks in May 2015, Jump Start Academic: Azure Lab from Microsoft students Toscana in November 2014, Certificate of Completion Illinois-Pisa Program from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in September 2014, and Certificate of participation at the "Introduction to Latex" course from G.i.O. - Associazione Culturale Studentesca in March 2014.

Currently, Andrea is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at LUISS Business School, starting in 2021 and expected to graduate in 2023.
