David B. Seifer

David B. Seifer, MD is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist at Yale Medicine Fertility Center in Orange, CT and is a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Seifer has 30 years of experience in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and is a past president of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), the primary national organization that sets clinical and laboratory guidelines and standards for safety and quality metrics for IVF.

Dr. Seifer earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Stanford University and his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Yale University.

Dr. Seifer’s translational research interests has focused on the mechanisms of reproductive aging. His research led to the development of a blood test to determine the level of antimullerian hormone (AMH), which is used worldwide today to measure the health of a woman’s ovaries, provide a rough estimate of her egg count, and assess her biological clock. His clinical research has focused upon health care disparities among women with infertility.

Dr. Seifer has received the ASRM Star Award several times from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and was named Inventor of the Year by the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame and received The Thomas Edison Patent Award in 2011. He has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor numerous times.
