Sebastian van Delden

Sebastian van Delden is currently the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Winthrop University, overseeing all academic programs and providing thought leadership since January 2024. Previously, Sebastian served at the College of Charleston from June 2015 to January 2024 in various roles including Dean of the School of Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering, Interim Dean of the School of Sciences and Mathematics, and Department Chair and Professor, focusing on the Computer Science Department and fostering relationships with various constituencies. Prior experience includes serving as Department Head and Professor at Southeastern Louisiana University from July 2012 to June 2015, and as Associate Professor and Director of Research at the University of South Carolina Upstate from January 2004 to July 2012. Sebastian holds a Ph.D., as well as Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science, all earned from the University of Central Florida between 1995 and 2003.
