Juho Pirskanen has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Juho started their career in 1999 as a Researcher/Research assistant at Tampere University of Technology. Juho then joined Nokia in 2000 and held various roles including System Designer, Specialist in Standardisation, IPR Manager, and Principal Researcher. At Nokia, they worked on wireless research, project management, patent analysis, and standardisation.
In 2011, Pirskanen joined Renesas Mobile Corporation as a Principle Researcher, where they led the Local Area and Proximity Communication Technology Area and was the head of IEEE802.11 Standardization.
After that, they worked at Broadcom as an Engineer, Sr Principal, Systems Design and then as a Principal Researcher.
In 2014, Pirskanen returned to Nokia as a Principal Researcher, focusing on 5G technology. Juho later joined Nokia Networks in 2015 as a Senior Specialist and became a Senior Specialist at Nokia Bell Labs in 2016. At Nokia Bell Labs, they were involved in 5G radio research and standardization, as well as research leadership for 3GPP NR Unlicensed spectrum access.
In 2017, Pirskanen rejoined Wirepas as a Standards and Industry Alliance Expert. Juho then transitioned to the role of Principal System Engineer in 2020.
Juho Pirskanen pursued their education in the field of Telecommunications. Juho completed their Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications from Tampere University of Technology between 1995 and 2000. Additionally, they availed the opportunity of an Erasmus exchange study program at the University of Stuttgart from 1997 to 1998, where they specialized in Telecommunications Engineering.
