Charlie Howard

Charlie Howard is a highly experienced electrical systems architect currently serving as a Sr Principal System Engineer at Sierra Space, where responsibilities include avionics, power, electromechanical components, and electrical subsystem integration for the Dream Chaser vehicle. Prior to this role, Charlie held various positions at Sierra Nevada Corporation, including Avionics Hardware Lead for Dream Chaser, and Principal System Engineer at Micron Technology, focusing on FPGA and board design. Extensive experience at Southwest Research Institute involved serving as a Principal Engineer and product line architect for solid-state recorders and science processing modules. Early career roles included ASIC and FPGA design at companies such as Chiaro Networks, Reltec, and Tellabs. Charlie Howard earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington.
