Director Of Education at Wisconsin Conservatory of Music

Teresa Drews has a diverse work experience in the field of music. Teresa started their career in 1999 as a Piano Teacher at Friends School of Baltimore. In 2000, they joined Music Workshop in Baltimore, MD as a Piano Teacher. In 2003, they became a Piano Faculty and Collaborative Pianist at Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Teresa later became the Piano Department Chair in 2005 and continues to hold this role until July 2022. In 2018, they also took on the role of Director of Education at Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. In 2019, they joined First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee as a Collaborative Pianist.

Teresa Drews earned their Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Northwestern University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Teresa then pursued their Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University from 1999 to 2002. In 2003, they enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where they completed coursework in Music Education with a focus on K-12, Choral/General education. From 2019 to 2020, Teresa participated in the Community Arts Education Leadership Institute (CAELI) as a CAELI Fellow at the National Guild for Community Arts Education.
