J. Shane McDowell

J. Shane McDowell, MCP, CHPP, currently serves as the COG Deputy Director and Agency Continuity Manager at the Wisconsin Department of Administration since October 2021. In addition, J. Shane is a WIAA Basketball Official, a role started in July 2020. Prior to current positions, J. Shane worked at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, focusing on continuity of operations and government planning. J. Shane has extensive experience from a 20-year career in the United States Air Force, where responsibilities included leading emergency management programs, developing training, and overseeing logistics. J. Shane holds a BA in Homeland Security from American Military University and dual AS degrees in Building Construction Technology and Emergency Management from the Community College of the Air Force.
