Michelle Douglas, CPP

Michelle Douglas, CPP has over 25 years of work experience. Michelle is currently a Team Lead of Managed Payroll Services at Wise Consulting Associates, LLC since November 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Human Resources Payroll professional at A.N. Deringer, Inc. from March 2018 to September 2019, where they directed and oversaw payroll and benefits for 500+ employees. Michelle was responsible for managing and processing benefits plans, retirement plans, FMLA, OSHA, and Workers' Compensation concerns. Michelle also customized UltiPro software, reports, and payroll processes.

From June 2015 to March 2018, Michelle worked as a Payroll, Benefits, and HRIS Manager at Howard Center. Michelle managed payroll, benefits, and HRIS support staff and systems to support 1,700+ employees. Additionally, they promptly responded to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and timekeeping, and created, processed, and submitted all required tax returns and audit reconciliations.

Before that, they worked as a Payroll & Accounting Specialist at Franklin West Supervisory Union from July 2011 to June 2015. In this role, they managed payroll and time attendance systems for 500+ hourly and salaried employees. Michelle also provided backup for Human Resources personnel, including completing criminal background checks.

From September 2005 to March 2013, Michelle worked for the Town of Highgate as a Town Employee. Michelle'sresponsibilities included preparing and maintaining annual reports, voting records, meeting minutes, and expense reports. Michelle also provided planning for Town Meeting and Recreation Events and implemented and maintained the town website.

Michelle's work experience also includes being a Co-Owner of BMA Investments, LLC from January 1996 to June 2008.

Michelle Douglas, CPP has an educational background in accounting and holds an Associates degree in the field. Michelle attended Champlain College from 1992 to 1994, where they obtained their Associates degree in Accounting. Prior to that, Michelle attended Enosburg Falls High School from 1988 to 1992. Additionally, Michelle has obtained a certification as a Certified Payroll Professional from the American Payroll Association in August 2020.
