Anne Spencer, M.Ed.

Anne Spencer, M.Ed. has over 29 years of experience in content development, instructional design and course creation, rights management, design, publishing and web technologies, LMS platforms, XML implementation and workflows. Anne has worked in a variety of roles in various companies since 1997.

In 2015, Anne began working for Ixxus as a Business Analyst, reporting to the COO and Head of Business Analysis. Anne worked with Fortune-500 companies to craft solutions that help them manage content effectively and accomplish goals. In the same year, they also started working for the Massachusetts Medical Society as a Content Business Analyst for the New England Journal of Medicine, reporting to the Online Product Manager.

In 2016, Anne began working for Harvard Health Publications as an Instructional Designer/UX Lead. Anne worked with Harvard and HMS faculty to develop learning solutions for the lay public to better understand issues related to wellness, cognitive fitness, substance use disorders, and heart failure.

In 2017, Anne was a Copyright Consultant for MedU, now Aquifer.

In 2018, Anne began working for athenahealth as a Senior Instructional Designer. Anne was embedded within a dev team in an agile environment and created instructional materials to enable athenahealth clients to use their platform more effectively and improve health outcomes of those they serve.

In 2019, Anne started working for SAI Global Risk, Ethics & Compliance in two roles. Anne was a Product Manager/Product Owner: Learning Innovation, responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the SDLC. Anne was also a Product Manager/Learning Content Strategist, helping global Fortune 500 companies manage risk and comply with global and local legal frameworks through training and learning.

In 2021, Anne began working for Harvard Business Publishing as a Senior Agile Project Manager. Anne worked cross-functionally to develop learning solutions for the higher ed and corporate markets, leveraging emerging and historical HBS faculty insights.

Finally, in 2022, Anne started working for Wisewire Ed as the Head of Production Operations.

Anne Spencer, M.Ed. has worked in a variety of roles since 1997, gaining experience in content development, instructional design, course creation, rights management, design, publishing and web technologies, LMS platforms, XML implementation and workflows, business analysis, needs assessment, database development, project management, user research, product management, user experience design, and professional development. Anne has worked for Ixxus, Massachusetts Medical Society, Harvard Health Publications, MedU, athenahealth, SAI Global Risk, Ethics & Compliance, Harvard Business Publishing, and Wisewire Ed.

Anne Spencer, M.Ed. began their educational journey in 1980 when they earned a BA in European History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Anne then went on to earn a Certificate in Graphic Design from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1995-1997. In 2000-2002, they obtained their M. Ed. from UMass Boston, specializing in Instructional Design and Organizational Management. In 2014, they took a Project Management course with Corporate Education Group. Most recently, Anne Spencer obtained a certification in Learning Data Analytics from LinkedIn in December 2020.
