Martin de Gourcuff

Martin de Gourcuff has a diverse work experience in various companies and industries. Martin started their career as a Research Intern at Idaho National Laboratory in 2011, where they designed a physical model to predict thermal conductivity of metallic alloys under fast neutron irradiation. Martin then worked as an Engineering Intern at HITEC Luxembourg S.A. in 2012, where they designed a satellite ground antennas position controller. Martin then had a role as an Engineering Intern at Aldebaran Robotics in 2013.

In 2014, Martin joined Parrot, a drone manufacturing company, where they held multiple roles. Martin started as a Control System Engineer, designing Parrot's drones autopilot and integrating flight sensors. Martin later became a Technical Team Lead, managing and leading a team in designing and implementing obstacle avoidance features for Parrot's drones. Martin's responsibilities in this role included sensor processing algorithms, collision-free trajectory generation, and sensor hardware integration.

In addition to their work in the robotics industry, Martin had a side project as the Art Director at Calchemise, a clothing company. During their time there, they worked on fabric sourcing, production, and delivery, which resulted in commercial success and the eventual sale of the company.

Currently, Martin is working at Withings as the Head of Machine Learning, starting in 2021. The specific details of their role at Withings are not provided.

Martin de Gourcuff completed their undergraduate education from Lycée Saint-Louis, specializing in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree at Mines Paris from 2009 to 2013, majoring in Applied Mathematics, Robotics, Control Theory, and Computer Vision.
