Carmen Ren

Carmen Ren has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Carmen began their career in 2010 as an Office Assistant at the Barnard English Department while also contributing as a Contributor to the Columbia Daily Spectator. In 2013, they worked as a Brand Development Intern at Conversation and as a Research Assistant for Sudhir Venkatesh at Columbia University. Carmen continued their research work as a Research Assistant for Van C. Tran at Columbia University in 2014.

In 2014, Carmen joined the Peace Corps as a Teacher Trainer/Literacy Specialist in Uganda. During their time there, they trained 230 pre-service teachers, improved student literacy skills by 140%, and facilitated various donations. Carmen also organized and led workshops on different topics.

After their Peace Corps experience, Carmen worked at Bevi from 2017 to 2020. Carmen first served as a Marketing Coordinator and later as a Territory Sales Manager, where they contributed to the growth and success of the company by bringing customizable, healthy hydration to offices and facilities across the US and Canada.

In 2020, Carmen took on various roles at different companies. Carmen worked as a Marketing Consultant for Various Companies from June to August before joining Curative as part of their Kiosk Operations team from August to October. Carmen then became the Interim Director of Operations, CA for Curative in October and served until November. From November 2020 to October 2021, Carmen held the position of Chief of Staff, Strategy at Curative. Carmen ended their tenure at Curative as a Program Manager from October 2021 to January 2022.

Carmen is currently working at Pavilion as the Business Operations Manager and Data Platform Manager, starting in January 2022 and September 2022 respectively.

Carmen Ren completed their education at Barnard College from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and Sociology. During their time at Barnard College, they also studied Sociology for a brief period at Sciences Po in 2013. Prior to attending college, Carmen Ren graduated from Arroyo High School in 2010, receiving their High School Diploma.
