Shabir Madhi

Shabir Madhi serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand since January 2007 and holds the position of DST/NRF South African Research Chair in Vaccine Preventable Diseases. As a Professor of Vaccinology at the same institution since January 2008, Shabir Madhi has contributed extensively to the field. Additionally, Shabir Madhi has been the Director of the South African Medical Research Council's Vaccines and Infectious Diseases Analytics Research Unit since January 2020 and previously served as the Director of the Respiratory and Meningeal Pathogens Research Unit from January 2012 to January 2021.
