Mohammad Mashayekhi

Lead Instructor at Wizeprep

Mohammad Mashayekhi is a co-founder of Neuro International Collaboration (NIC), which aims to support students interested in neuroscience research. Mohammad mentors teams of students and conducts research in the fields of neuroscience, neurobiology, psychiatry, and neurosurgery.

Mohammad also works as a topic coordinator at Frontiers and is responsible for coordinating and managing topics related to their field of expertise.

In addition, Mohammad is a co-founder of the Canadian Medical Student Interest Group in Neurosurgery (CaMSIGN), the first national educational interest group for its cause. Mohammad connects, educates, and inspires medical students across Canada by organizing events such as speaker series, journal club meetings, and mentorship sessions.

Prior to their current roles, Mohammad served as a lead instructor at Wize and an instructor at Beat Your Course Inc. Mohammad also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at The University of British Columbia, focusing on physics research.

During their time at The University of British Columbia, Mohammad held multiple positions as a teaching assistant and research assistant from 2007 to 2014, where they gained experience in academia and research.

Mohammad Mashayekhi has a diverse education history with a strong focus on physics. Mohammad started their academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from Sharif University of Technology from 2002 to 2006. Following that, they pursued further studies at The University of British Columbia, where they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from 2007 to 2009. Mohammad then continued their academic pursuits at the same institution, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics from 2009 to 2014. Currently, Mohammad Mashayekhi is an MD Candidate at The University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine, aiming to graduate in 2023.
