Shaun Newell

Shaun Newell has extensive work experience in the media industry, with a strong focus on news and communications. Shaun currently holds the position of Vice President/General Manager at WMBD-TV Channel 31 since January 2022. Prior to this role, Shaun served as News Director at WMBD/WYZZ from February 2017. Shaun also worked as the Director of Marketing and Communications at The Center for Prevention of Abuse from July 2015 to February 2017. Before that, Shaun held the position of Assignment Manager at WEEK-TV from March 2012 to July 2015. Shaun also served as the News Director at JMP Radio Group from May 2005 to January 2012 and as a News Reporter/Anchor at WLDS/WEAI from January 2003 to April 2005.

Shaun Newell received a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Western Illinois University in 2002. Shaun later pursued further education at Bradley University where they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Marketing between 2011 and 2013.
