Louise Strongitharm

Louise Strongitharm is the current Director of Housing at Woking Borough Council. Prior to this, they held the position of Strategic Director - Communities and Director of Housing at Woking Borough Council for 3 years and 4 months. Before that, Louise spent 15 years and 10 months as Assistant Director - Place Commissioning, Category Manager - Economic Prosperity and Place, Service Manager - Economic Sustainability, Senior Housing Strategy & Development Officer, and Key Worker Housing Development Officer at Wokingham Borough Council. In these roles, Louise was responsible for managing the Council's strategy and commissioning activity in relation to housing, economic development, waste and other environment/place services. This included leading on the development of the Council's Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) policy, successfully putting forward a case for some of the highest rates in the country. Louise also wrote, coordinated and implemented the Housing Strategy and Homelessness Strategy and enabled new affordable housing through partnership working. Additionally, they project managed the Council's PSA target to build key worker housing on school land. Prior to their work in local government, Louise was a Management Trainee at Surrey County Council for 1 year and 11 months, and a Student Economist at HM Treasury for 1 year and 1 month.

Louise Strongitharm has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Surrey, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from Kingston University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Housing from De Montfort University. Louise is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
