As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Junior Accounts Assistant.

Position Overview:

As a Junior Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance team in managing the company's financial transactions and ensuring accuracy in financial records. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and has a strong interest in pursuing a career in finance. This role will be paid at the living wage to start and will require attendance to the office 2-3 days per week.

An initial part-time position would be considered with a view to becoming full-time within 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable:

  • Process invoices, expense reports, and other financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Accounts Receivable:

  • Assist in the preparation of client invoices and ensure timely and accurate billing.

  • Monitor and follow up on client payments, addressing any payment-related enquiries.

  • Financial Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports as needed.

  • Bank Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

  • Assist in Month-End Closing:

  • Support the finance team in month-end closing procedures.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless financial processes.

  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, clients, and colleagues.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks:

  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by management

Must haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and logical skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and basic accounting software.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of business

  • High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to attend the office 2 days a week

Bonus points:

  • Prior internship or work experience in a finance/accounting role.

  • Practical knowledge of use of AI in finance

  • Familiarity with digital marketing terminology
