Shailaja Rao

Shailaja Rao is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in product management and operations within the semiconductor industry. Currently serving as a Product Manager at Wolfspeed since May 2021, Shailaja previously held the position of Director of Operations at Crystal IS from July 2008 to January 2021. In that role, Shailaja managed substrate and device operations, overseeing the transition from R&D to commercial production and achieving a threefold increase in manufacturing output through improved efficiency. Earlier experience includes serving as a Process Engineering Manager and Crystal Growth Scientist at Crystal IS, where responsibilities encompassed program management and process development. Prior to Crystal IS, Shailaja worked as a Research Scientist at Caracal Inc. Shailaja holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of South Florida.
