Lilian Lau

Toronto Chapter Founder & Chair at Women in Big Data

Lilian Lau has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Lilian is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at Shopify. Prior to that, they held positions at Women in Big Data as the Toronto Chapter Founder & Chair and later as a Global Executive Member.

Their previous roles include being a Data Science Manager at Northbridge Financial Corporation, a Data Scientist at ASSURANCE IQ, and a Data Science Manager and Data Scientist at Aviva Canada.

Lilian also worked as a Senior Data Scientist and Data Scientist at Quandl (Nasdaq). Lilian started their career as a Student Program Assistant at The University of British Columbia and as a Student Policy Analyst at Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada. In the latter role, they contributed to the development of Canada's Fiscal Approach for Self-Governing Arrangements.

Lilian Lau obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Economics (Honours) from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 2011 to 2016.
