Ann Spitalny Bacon

Ann Spitalny Bacon is a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in nursing, health education, and global health leadership. Currently serving as Co-Lead of the Finland Chapter for Women in Global Health, Ann advocates for gender equality in health decision-making. Previous roles include School Nurse and Health Educator at the International School of Helsinki, where Ann supported over 400 students and staff, and Advisory Board Chair for Women in Global Health Finland, focusing on raising awareness of gender equality in global health. Ann's clinical background features positions as an Acute Care Registered Nurse in various specialties, a Hospice Nurse providing end-of-life care, and a Clinical Research Nurse at Columbia University. Ann holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and two Bachelor's degrees in Communication and Media Studies and Registered Nursing from Emerson College and New York University, respectively.
