Rafaela Monchek

Rafaela Monchek has extensive experience in disaster recovery and resilience management, currently serving as the Deputy Associate Administrator for the Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience at the U.S. Small Business Administration, with an ongoing assignment as Director for Recovery and Mitigation at the National Security Council. Rafaela oversees the Office of Continuous Operations and Risk Management, managing disaster preparedness and recovery efforts, including a significant role in the disaster loan program that aided over $30 billion in disaster assistance. Previous positions include Director at the National Security Council, Deputy Assistant Administrator at FEMA, and roles in emergency management and project management within the US Department of the Interior. Rafaela holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Science from Florida International University and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida.
