Lead Game Animator at Wonderstorm

Jay Hathaway has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the animation industry. Starting in 2002, Jay worked as an adjunct professor at the Art Institute, Orange County, teaching courses in character animation and rigging. Concurrently, Jay also operated as a freelance animator under JHathaway Animation LLC from 2017 onwards.

Throughout the years, Jay has held positions as a lead animator, animation manager, and previs animator at companies such as FireForge, Virtually Live, and Dopamine Studio, respectively. Notably, Jay served as a senior animator at inXile entertainment from 2017 to 2018.

In recent years, Jay has continued teaching as an adjunct professor at Chapman University and the Laguna College of Art and Design. In these roles, Jay imparted knowledge and skills in character animation and film. At Laguna College of Art and Design, Jay's experiments with recorded microlectures and hyflex learning formats resulted in increased student satisfaction.

Most recently, Jay Hathaway joined Wonderstorm as the lead game animator for the development of The Dragon Prince, an animated series and video game with a shared world and vision.

Jay Hathaway completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in 3D Computer Animation from San Francisco State University, which they attended from 1992 to 1996. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Film Studies from the same university, although the specific dates are not provided. In addition to their formal education, Jay Hathaway obtained a certification in Miro Essentials from Miro in February 2023.
