Gavin Young

Gavin Young has extensive work experience in the energy industry, with a focus on business development, geoscience, and analysis. Gavin is currently employed as a Principal Analyst at Wood Mackenzie, specializing in the Middle East. Prior to this, they worked at Capricorn Energy PLC as a Business Development Geoscientist/Analyst, where they were responsible for project managing M&A projects, identifying value creation opportunities, and conducting economic and commercial modeling. Gavin also evaluated new energy opportunities and coordinated M&A processes. Earlier in their career, Gavin worked at ION Geophysical as a Seismic Acquisition Specialist and at TGS as a Geophysicist.

Gavin Young completed their Bachelor of Science with honors (BSc(Hons)) in Earth Sciences/Geosciences at the University of Glasgow from 2006 to 2010. Gavin then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Exploration Geophysics at the University of Edinburgh from 2010 to 2011. Currently, they are studying part-time at Strathclyde Business School for a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Economics, which will be completed from 2022 to 2024.
