Rhodri Thomas

Svp, Optimization at Wood Mackenzie

Rhodri Thomas has extensive work experience at Wood Mackenzie. From 1999 to 2016, they held various roles including Research Manager, Americas Upstream Research Manager, and Head of Americas Research and Americas President. During this time, they also played a key role in developing Wood Mackenzie's offering on Unconventional Hydrocarbons. In 2017, Rhodri became the SVP and Head of EMEARC Research, leading teams that produced research on Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and the Caspian regions. In 2019, they transitioned to the role of SVP of Data and Data Analytics before assuming their current role as SVP of Optimization in 2023.

Rhodri Thomas earned a BSc in Geophysics from the University of Leeds, attending from 1992 to 1995. Rhodri then pursued a PhD in Exploration Seismology at Birkbeck, University of London, completing their studies from 1995 to 1999.
