Sharon Zimmerman

Sharon Zimmerman is an accomplished banking professional with extensive experience in community development and financial services. Currently serving as Vice President, MDI Engagement and Community Development Manager at Woodforest National Bank since September 2016, Sharon leads initiatives aimed at enhancing economic growth in low- and moderate-income communities across the Greater Washington and Maryland regions. Prior to this role, Sharon held positions such as Manager of Community Engagement at United Way of the National Capital Area and Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer at Industrial Bank NA, where responsibilities included grants management and commercial loan origination. Sharon’s early career includes significant contributions to marketing and community development at Industrial Bank and experience as an Associate National Bank Examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Sharon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business & Finance from Howard University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The George Washington University School of Business.
