Sarah Petrie Valentine

Sarah Petrie Valentine, CFRE has over 20 years of experience in the field of development and fundraising. Sarah has held various roles in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors.

Sarah started their career in 1999 as a Public Relations and Public Affairs Account Executive at Hill & Knowlton. Sarah then worked as a Development Officer at Girl Scouts of the USA from 2002 to 2004.

In 2005, Sarah joined Satisfaction Guaranteed Eateries, Inc. as a Public Relations and Marketing Consultant, where they worked until 2007.

In 2008, Sarah held two positions simultaneously. Sarah served as the Development Program and Events Manager at Georgetown University and as the Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations at American University. Sarah stayed at American University until 2012.

Since 2012, Sarah has been with Woodland Park Zoo, initially as the Vice President of Development and now as the Chief Development Officer (CDO).

Sarah Petrie Valentine, CFRE obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Loyola Marymount University in the years 1995-1999. Prior to that, they attended Seattle Preparatory School. Sarah is also certified as a Fundraising Executive by CFRE International.
