Derek Bergeron

Derek Bergeron is a skilled maritime professional with extensive experience in various roles at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since June 2001, including Master of the R/V Atlantis and R/V Neil Armstrong, Chief Mate, and various officer positions. Derek has served as a Navigation Watch Officer, Safety Officer, Medical Officer, and has expertise as a Dynamic Position Operator. Prior roles include Chief Mate of the R/V Sikuliaq at the University of Alaska and Third Mate at Tyco. Educational qualifications include a degree in Marine Transportation from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and continuing education from the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies.
