Elena Ceballos Romero

Elena Ceballos Romero is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, focusing on enhancing carbon export assessments in oceans through the Biological Carbon Pump. With previous experience as a crew member and scientist on NASA and British Antarctic Survey expeditions, Elena has held postdoctoral positions at the Universidad de Sevilla, where research involved studying oceanographic processes in the Arctic and examining carbon export dynamics. As an assistant professor at Universidad CEU San Pablo, teaching in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Elena has contributed to academia while also engaging in various research initiatives throughout the career, including significant work on particle dynamics and carbon flux in marine environments. Elena holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Applied Physics from Universidad de Sevilla and a Master's in Nuclear Physics from the University of Münster.
