Mak Saito

Mak Saito is a distinguished scientist with extensive experience in marine and chemical oceanography. Currently involved with BioGeoSCAPES as the AccelNet Principal Investigator and Co-Chair of the International Implementation Committee since July 2022, Saito also serves on the Executive Committee for the Center for Chemical Currencies of a Microbial Planet and as the Science Principal Investigator for the Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office since January 2018. In addition, Saito has been a Senior Scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since 2003. Academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Studies, and Chemistry from Oberlin College, a Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and post-doctoral work in Marine Bioinorganic Chemistry at Princeton University.
