Poonam Narotam

Poonam Narotam is a Communications Specialist at WHOI Sea Grant, affiliated with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since October 2022, focusing on environmental stewardship and coastal resource management. With a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University, Poonam produced multifaceted stories covering climate and environmental issues during a graduate program. Prior experience includes roles as a Camp Director at Camp North Star, managing safety and events for campers, and as a Business Analyst at Mission Throttle, developing nonprofit strategies. Additional positions at Ford Motor Company and Challenge Detroit involved communication and health initiatives. Poonam's undergraduate studies in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies were completed at The George Washington University.
