Zhivko Apostolov

Zhivko Apostolov has an extensive work experience in software engineering and management roles. Zhivko started their career as a Software Engineer at ANTIM Ltd., where they worked on projects related to telephone call information and vehicle identification. Zhivko then joined SkyGate BG Ltd as a Software Engineer, focusing on projects involving communication systems.

Following their time at SkyGate BG Ltd, Zhivko worked as a Software Engineer at DELTACOM ELECTRONICS Ltd, contributing to the development of software for ISDN POTS devices. Zhivko later joined KOMERO Technologies Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer and Team Leader, working on image processing and visualization software.

Zhivko then transitioned to Johnson Controls, where they held the position of Senior SW Test Engineer and later Engineering Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for product requirements and validation, managing a team of engineers and supporting multiple projects.

After leaving Johnson Controls, Zhivko joined Visteon Corporation as a Regional System Manager, overseeing system requirements and validation domains. Zhivko also served as a Software Engineering Manager, leading the Driver Information SW platform team and working on software platforms for automotive electronic products.

Currently, Zhivko is the Head of Software Engineering at Woodward, Inc. Since joining in 2023, they have been responsible for overseeing the company's software engineering operations.

Throughout their career, Zhivko has gained expertise in programming languages such as C/C++ and Microsoft Visual C++. Zhivko has experience in task planning, test case design, test execution, and defect reporting. Additionally, they have successfully led and managed teams, supporting various projects and collaborating with OEMs.

Zhivko Apostolov holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Technical University Sofia, which they obtained from 1993 to 1997. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Industrial Electronics from a secondary school between 1987 and 1991. In addition to their formal education, Zhivko has obtained various certifications from LinkedIn, including Agile Development Practices, Agile Software Development: Transforming Your Organization, and DevOps Foundations in 2020, as well as a range of certifications related to career development and organizational thought leadership that they obtained in 2023.
