James Callender has a diverse range of work experience spanning various industries and roles. James is currently the Director of Business Solutions ANZ at Workplace Options, where they are responsible for brand building, strategic partnerships, and portfolio growth in Australia and New Zealand. James is known for challenging traditional approaches to Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and mental health resources by creating customized wellbeing programs for organizations based on their specific goals.

Prior to their current role, James worked at nib Group, where they held multiple positions. James served as a Business Development Manager for Corporate Health, driving B2B pipeline growth and implementing lean prospecting strategies. James also worked as a Business Partner in Partner Management, supporting strategy development and service delivery for the Business Services center of operational excellence. Additionally, James was an Acquisition Manager for Strategic Partnerships, managing health, life, and general insurance partnerships and optimizing customer experience.

Before their time at nib Group, James worked at Actura Australia as a Group Manager, collaborating with NASA on the iViCon Junior Space School program. James was responsible for the safety, well-being, and education of school students and aimed to inspire a passion for STEM subjects through the program.

James' earlier experience includes working as an Accountant at H & M Accountants Newcastle. In this role, they worked with clients from various industries, providing strategic and operational consulting services. James also gained experience in tax returns and financial statement preparation. Prior to becoming an Accountant, James started their career as a Trainee Accountant at the same company, where they gained exposure to business operations and client services.

Throughout their career, James has demonstrated an ability to drive growth, establish strategic partnerships, and deliver results in a variety of roles and industries.

James Callender has a diverse education history with a range of certifications and degrees. In 2008-2009, they obtained a Highschool Certificate from St Francis Xavier's College. Following this, they attended the University of Newcastle from 2010 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a focus on Accounting.

Throughout their professional career, James has pursued various certifications and additional education. In 2016, they completed the RG146 Tier 1 General Insurance Personal Advice program at Kaplan Professional. The same year, they also obtained a Cert IV in Leadership and Management from TAFE NSW.

Moving forward, James acquired a range of certifications. In 2017, they completed the Data Visualisation program at General Assembly, specializing in Data Science. James also obtained the Prince2 Foundation Level certification from PRINCE2.com, solidifying their knowledge in Project Management.

In 2018, James became an Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) after successfully completing their ANZIIF (Aff) CIP program, focusing on Insurance.

More recently in 2019, James attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors for the Reporting to the Board program, acquiring further knowledge in leadership and corporate governance. Additionally, they participated in the Digital Marketing program at General Assembly, enhancing their skills in Marketing. James also gained introductory knowledge in User Experience Design through a brief course at General Assembly.

Aside from their educational achievements, James has also obtained several additional certifications. In 2011, they became a Justice of the Peace through the Department of Justice NSW.
