Karen Li

Karen Li has a diverse range of work experience in various roles within the social work and counseling field. Karen began their career as a Social Work Intern at LOFT Community Services and St. Joseph's Health Centre, where they gained valuable experience in providing support and counseling to individuals. Karen then worked as an Assistant Program Facilitator on a contract basis at the Toronto Reconciliation Mission Centre, where they conducted intakes and provided court-ordered counseling. Karen also served as a Program Training Officer at Under The Banyan Tree, where they developed and implemented teaching programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Karen then became a Social Work Intern at Fife House Foundation, conducting intakes and empowering clients in need of supportive housing. Karen's most recent position was as a Clinical Counselor/Case Manager at Workplace Options, where they offered single session counseling for various clinical issues. Throughout their career, Karen has demonstrated their ability to facilitate vocational and life skills programs, provide one-on-one support, and assist individuals and families in setting and achieving their goals. Karen has a strong background in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, homelessness, and those in conflict with the law.

Karen Li has a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree with a specialization in Mental Health and Health from the University of Toronto, which they obtained from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minor in Psychology at Ryerson University from 2004 to 2008.

In terms of additional certifications, Karen Li has obtained the certification in Defusing Hostility – Crisis Intervention with the Hostile and Aggressive Individual from The Canadian Training Institute in February 2012. Karen is also a Registered Social Worker, which they obtained from the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in March 2011.
