Shawn Mitton has an extensive career in occupational health and safety, currently serving as Manager of Claim Suppression at WorkSafeBC since 1990, focusing on the promotion and protection of worker rights and the integrity of the compensation system in British Columbia. Prior roles at WorkSafeBC include Manager of Prevention Field Services, overseeing health and safety education and enforcement in the Okanagan and Kootenay regions, and Senior Regional Officer, managing high-risk strategies for injury prevention. Additionally, Shawn has held positions as an Occupational Hygiene Officer at BC Institute of Technology and as an Environmental Health Officer for the City of Burnaby, as well as with the Government of Manitoba.
