Matt Cooper is a seasoned data professional currently serving as the VP of Data at World Data Lab since October 2023, following a role as Senior Data Science Engineer at Sust Global from October 2021 to November 2023. Prior to that, Matt was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, supported by the Harvard Data Science Institute, and worked as a Data Science Consultant for multiple organizations, including World Data Lab and Perigee. Matt's previous experience includes positions as a Research Scientist at Surgo Foundation and Senior Research Scientist at Science Systems and Applications, Inc. Notably, Matt served as Head Data Manager for the Vital Signs project at Conservation International and has a robust educational background with a PhD in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland, an MA in Geography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA in Geography and Anthropology from the University of Florida.
