Hashendra Wijesinha

Hashendra Wijesinha has a diverse work experience across various organizations. In their current role at the World Economic Forum, they serve as the Lead, Strategy and Program Management (Chief of Staff) for the Centre for Nature and Climate. Hashendra has also held positions as the Lead and Specialist for the Nature Action Agenda.

Before joining the World Economic Forum, Hashendra co-founded The Sparklers Foundation in 2017, where they continue to serve as a Co-Founder. Hashendra has also co-authored a book titled "I Am Inspired".

Hashendra has worked as a Lead Expert at Hatch Works, focusing on the Green Energy Champion Accelerator. Hashendra has also served as a Strategy Consultant and Job Smart Program Manager at the University of Sydney's Business School.

Prior to their time at the University of Sydney, Hashendra gained experience as an Analyst at Morphosis Sustainability and as a Project Auditor for the Hilton & EPA NSW Food Waste Reduction Program at WWF-Australia.

Hashendra started their career at KPMG Sri Lanka as an Analyst in Management and Risk Consulting. Additionally, they have interned at the Centre of Resilient Development, Parliament of Australia, and Publicis Groupe in various roles.

Hashendra Wijesinha's education history is as follows:

From 2002 to 2009, Hashendra attended Mont'Kiara International School where they obtained an American High School Diploma with a focus on the International Baccalaureate program.

In 2010, they enrolled at The Australian National University and earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Management. During the same period, Hashendra also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Development Studies and Political Science.

In 2017, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in Commerce at the University of Sydney, specializing in Sustainability and Accounting.

Continuing their education, Hashendra attended Bond University from 2018 to 2019 where they completed a Master of Construction Practice degree. Hashendra specialized in Construction Economics during their time at Bond University.

In 2021, Hashendra attended the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and obtained a certification as a Certified Expert in Climate and Renewable Energy Finance.

In addition to their formal education, Hashendra has obtained several certifications. In June 2019, they became a Climate Reality Leader through The Climate Reality Project. In February 2012, they completed the Youth Mental Health First Aid certification offered by Mental Health First Aid Australia.
