Lucy Almond has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Lucy currently holds the position of Strategic Communications Lead for Nature-Based Solutions at the World Economic Forum. Prior to this, they served as the Director and Chair of Nature4Climate, an initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and held various roles within the organization, including Director and Project Director. Lucy also worked as the Communications Director for Global Lands at The Nature Conservancy.
Before their time at Nature4Climate and The Nature Conservancy, Lucy founded Mandorle Communications, a company providing integrated services for companies and charities in the natural resources sector. Lucy also worked as the Communications Director in BP's Alternative Energy division. Lucy's previous roles at BP included Communications Director for Emerging Business & Ventures and Communications Director for BP Research & Technology.
Lucy began their career with BP in 1994, where they held positions such as Communications Manager in various departments, including Integrated Supply & Trading and BP Georgia. Throughout their career, Lucy has demonstrated their expertise in strategic communications, project management, and translating complex issues into accessible content.
Lucy Almond attended The Broxbourne School in Hertfordshire from 1982 to 1989. Lucy did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study during their time there. Following their secondary education, Lucy Almond pursued higher education at the University of Cambridge from 1990 to 1993. Lucy successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a major in History.
