Francine Barchett is an accomplished professional in the fields of agriculture, food security, and wildlife economics. Currently serving on the Board of Advisors at the World Food Prize Foundation, Francine plays a pivotal role in selecting the $500,000 World Food Prize recipient and providing guidance for youth programs. As an Oxford Brettschneider Exchange Fellow, work is focused on the wildlife economy in Southern Africa. Francine is also a Research Fellow at the African Wildlife Economy Institute and a Sustainable Use and Livelihoods Specialist for IUCN. Engagement with youth is exemplified through the Program Associate role at Cornell University, which has earned recognition for youth hunger initiatives. Previous experience includes serving as a CARET Delegate for the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities and as a Fulbright Humphrey Fellowship Program Associate for the U.S. Department of State. Francine holds a PhD in Natural Resources & the Environment from Cornell University, supplemented by a Master's in Global Development and a Bachelor's in International Agriculture and Rural Development.
