World Food Programme
Alberto Nicoli currently serves as the Head of the Resilience and Food System Unit at the World Food Programme, starting in March 2024. Previously, Alberto held positions including Economic Security Delegate at the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Head of Livelihood Unit at the World Food Programme, where key achievements included scaling a multiyear livelihood program and developing resilience models for coastal communities. Additional experience includes roles at Malteser International as a Program Administrator, VIS Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo as a Country Administrator, and OXFAM Italia as Gaza Program Administrator, among others. Alberto has a strong educational background with degrees in Agricultural Technology, Financial Mathematics, and Diplomatic and International Relations from the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, complemented by a summer school program focused on African legal systems at Katholiek Universiteit Brussel.
