Senior Advisor at World Food Programme

Sibi Lawson-Marriott is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in humanitarian and development sectors, currently serving as a Senior Advisor at the World Food Programme since July 2016, where advisement focuses on building resilient food systems in complex contexts. Previously, Sibi held roles including Regional Adviser for climate change adaptation and resilience-building, and Head of Programme, managing multiple initiatives within one of WFP's largest country offices. Earlier experience includes serving as a Humanitarian Policy Specialist at UNICEF and during various roles at the World Food Programme, including External Relations Officer and Policy Officer. Sibi began a career in humanitarian assistance with UNHCR in 1996. Academically, Sibi holds a Master of Arts in African Area Studies/Development from UCLA and multiple Bachelor of Arts degrees from Oberlin College, with a concentration in Political Theory and Political Science.
