Dr. Mohammad Dauod Altaf is an experienced health emergency professional currently serving as Team Lead for Health Emergencies at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Sudan, with a focus on coordinating regional COVID-19 responses and providing technical support to WHO country offices. With over three decades of experience in health emergency management, Dr. Altaf has held various leadership positions at WHO in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, and Sudan, where responsibilities included developing strategic plans, coordinating with humanitarian partners, and ensuring effective emergency response operations. Dr. Altaf’s educational background includes an MD in General Medicine from Kabul Medical Sciences University, a Master's in Executive Leadership from Liberty University, a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and an MPH in Community Health and Preventive Medicine from Walden University.
