Marit Pettersen is an accomplished Senior Adviser with extensive experience in climate change-related issues. Currently serving at the World Health Organization since March 2023, Pettersen has also held a similar Senior Adviser position at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since January 2009. Previous roles include Senior Adviser at the Ministry of the Environment, Norway, and various advisory positions at the Norwegian Environment Agency and the Climate and Pollution Agency from 1996 to 2005. Pettersen holds a Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Oslo, which was completed in 2004, and a high school diploma in Natural Sciences from Grefsen videregående skole, awarded in 1987.
