Anjali Mahendra

Director Of Global Research, WRI Ross Center For Sustainable Cities at World Resources Institute

Anjali Mahendra serves as the Director of Global Research at the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, World Resources Institute, where responsibilities include setting the research agenda and leading policy-relevant projects on urban issues for a team of over 400 staff. With experience in advancing knowledge into action, Mahendra has previously held roles as Lead for Global Research and Strategy Head for Research and Practice at EMBARQ India. Prior to WRI, Mahendra worked as a Senior Associate at ICF International and as a consultant for the World Bank, contributing to urban climate change mitigation projects. Anjali Mahendra holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, along with several degrees in city planning and architecture, and has conducted research across various institutions including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Delft University of Technology.
