Ari Wijanarko Adipratomo is the program coordinator for LCDI at WRI Indonesia. Ari has worked with various organizations on issues of human trafficking, renewable energy, and conservation.
Ari began their career as a volunteer conservation research assistant with WWF-Australia. Ari conducted research on green, blue, and brown hydrogen as a possible means of power generation. Ari also helped the Business Renewable Centre Australia to conduct meetings, seminars, and buyer boot camps in Sydney which connected renewable energy providers with potential buyers from vast arrays of industries.
In November 2018, Ari began working as a national consultant for IOM - UN Migration. Ari was responsible for taking the lead in developing the SOP on data reporting and sharing mechanism which would ultimately lead to improved victim protection and coordinated government response against trafficking in persons. Ari was also responsible for conducting the following assignment:
• Support the lead consultant to conduct in depth interview with stakeholders from ATTF at national
and local.
• Support the lead consultant to facilitate two working group to develop revised SOPs.
• Develop proceedings from two working group meetings.
• Support the Lead consultant in drafting the final assessment report and draft of revised SOPs.
• Liaise with officials in the Indonesian government on the issues of human trafficking, particularly on the attempt to respond and monitor the case of human trafficking.
In January 2019, Ari began working with WRI Indonesia as the program coordinator for LCDI. In this role, they are responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to the Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative (LCDI) in Indonesia. Ari also provides technical support to government partners, private sector companies, and civil society organizations on landscape conservation and development issues.
Ari Wijanarko Adipratomo has a Master of International Relations from UNSW, a Diploma on the International Legal Framework on Biological Diversity from UNITAR, a Diploma on the International Environmental Law and Governance from UNITAR, a Diploma on the International Legal Framework on the Protection of the Atmosphere from UNITAR, a Bachelor's in International Relations from Institut Ilmu Sosial dan llmu Politik Jakarta, an Associate Degree in Social Sciences from City Colleges of Chicago-Harry S Truman College, a High School Diploma in Social Sciences from SMA Negeri 9 Kota Bogor, and a Certificate of Completion in Peace Building from the United States Institute of Peace.
